Christmas services 2022: Return to normality

Participation in the services in Aachen Cathedral is again possible without access cards on the Christmas holidays and at the turn of the year. All participants are still recommended to wear a mask.

Christmas Eve: 7am, 8:15am, 10am, 4pm, 6:30pm (Pontifical Mass), midnight.
Christmas Day: 7 a.m., 8:15 a.m., 10 a.m. (Pontifical Mass), 11:45 a.m., 6 p.m. (Pontifical Vespers)
Christmas Day 2: 7am, 8:15am, 10am (Pontifical Mass), 11:45am
New Year’s Eve: 7am, 8:15am, 10am, 5pm (end of year devotions)
New Year’s Day: 8 am, 10 am, 11:45 am, 5 pm Eucharist with sacramental blessing

Changes from 2023

From 1 January, the winter opening hours will come into force. The cathedral will close at 6pm until the end of March (otherwise 7pm).

Sunday services at 7am and 8:15am will be combined to 8am.

The 8:15 a.m. service on Saturdays will be cancelled.
