The Aachen Cathedral Treasury houses the most important and extensive church treasure north of the Alps. The works of art were created or donated to Charlemagne’s Cathedral over the course of twelve centuries. After the Cathedral, the Cathedral Treasury was also added to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

Liturgical implements, crosses, manuscripts, book bindings, reliquaries, vestments and other paraments, sculptures, panel paintings and memorabilia from the pilgrimages to the shrines document the long history of ecclesiastical life.

Around 120 works of art are displayed on three floors, organised by theme.
